[Kbi-webcivics] Sir Tim Berners-Lee gave the public ACM Turing Lecture

TimBL gave a presentation[1] & here are the slides for it[2].  When the
video is available - i'll post it.

I think the simple points are;

1. Ensure alternative protocols are able to be addressed using URIs.  This
is required to produce RDF documents that contain public, group and private
machine readable data in it.

2. Slide 47 =  Aaron Swartz, he died[3]. the film about him is here[4]
(note - its been a difficult journey for many to build out the 'plumbing').

3. The Web is machine readable

3.1. images of all the boxes is http://lod-cloud.net/   (a nice plugin for
a browser to read it is: http://osds.openlinksw.com/ )

3.2 in talking about schema.org being integrated into most of the web. note
- this is often about shopping or navigation,

for example; http://schema.org/Physician  = "A doctor's office." (not a
doctor / physician)
